Most of the time, people prefer their glasses half full instead of half empty. A very healthy attitude to get through the day. Strange then, that media tend to emphasise the half-emptiness of things. The only media that are biased towards half-fullness of things, tend to be found in non-democratic countries.

As long as it concerns ourselves or our dear ones, we lean to half-fullness. When people far and away are concerned, we are only interested in half-empty news about them. Half-full stories do not make the headlines. Is this what we need to feel good about ourselves?
